Welcome to Telling Your Story!
Whether you are a church leader, staff member at an organization, or an individual advocate, you have a story of why you are passionate about foster care. You know first-hand that stories can lead people to act, and you want to share your story to engage others in your community.
But when it comes to telling your story, things get tricky. At some point, you’ve probably wondered:
- How do I figure out what’s appropriate to share about my story so I don’t share too much—especially if it involves my kids?
- I think I could tell my story in a more compelling way, but how can I be sure it doesn’t come across as manipulative?
- My whole story is long and I feel bad leaving anything out, so how do I figure out what to cut when I don’t have much time?
You can gain skills and confidence to tell your story in a way that mobilizes others, honors the complexity of your story, and respects all the people in it. This on-demand workshop will walk you through a framework to tailor your story to any audience and setting, and equip you with insights to ensure you’re sharing it with wisdom and respect.
To do that, Jason Weber, the National Director of More Than Enough at CAFO, is going to guide you through this workshop.
